Only a Few Brief Years

Author: Ida L. Reed Appears in 1 hymnal Lyrics: 1 Only a few brief years Of toil and pain, Of weary heart-sick tears, And I shall reign With Jesus over there— My trials o’er, Within that land so fair, To weep no more. 2 A few more fleeting days, And I shall sing The glad, new song of praise To Christ, my King, Upon that fairer shore Beyond the skies, Where tempests break no more Nor clouds arise. 3 Not long have I to wait Till life is past; Beside the Golden Gate I’ll stand at last; My Lord will welcome me Full soon at best— To heaven’s glories free, Home, peace and rest.
