Harris Hymnal: The Best of All #220 (1910) First Line: We shall see and flow together, saith the Lord Refrain First Line: We shall see and walk in the light Lyrics: 1 We shall see and flow together, saith the Lord, And our vision shall be glorious thro’ His word, When the Savior comes within, Cleansing all the heart from sin, And salvation joys begin, We shall see. Refrain: We shall see and walk in the light, We shall see the path will be bright, We shall see the face of the Lord, And rejoice in His glorious word. 2 We will all be one in Jesus in that day, When the Spirit in His fullness comes to stay, We will glory in the cross, Counting all things else but loss, When our hearts are free from dross, We shall see. [Refrain] 3 We shall see the precious Savior every day, We shall know His pow’r to keep us all the way, And the goal we have in view, Will be ours if we are true, And we walk the journey through, We shall see. [Refrain] 4 When we reach the glorious ending over there, And behold the wondrous beauty rich and rare, When we walk the streets of gold, And our Savior there behold, We’ll be filled with joys untold, We shall see. Chas. H. Gabriel

1856 - 1932 Composer of "[We shall see and flow together, saith the Lord]" in The Best of All Pseudonyms: C. D. Emerson, Charlotte G. Homer, S. B. Jackson, A. W. Lawrence, Jennie Ree ============= For the first seventeen years of his life Charles Hutchinson Gabriel (b. Wilton, IA, 1856; d. Los Angeles, CA, 1932) lived on an Iowa farm, where friends and neighbors often gathered to sing. Gabriel accompanied them on the family reed organ he had taught himself to play. At the age of sixteen he began teaching singing in schools (following in his father's footsteps) and soon was acclaimed as a fine teacher and composer. He moved to California in 1887 and served as Sunday school music director at the Grace Methodist Church in San Francisco. After moving to Chicago in 1892, Gabriel edited numerous collections of anthems, cantatas, and a large number of songbooks for the Homer Rodeheaver, Hope, and E. O. Excell publishing companies. He composed hundreds of tunes and texts, at times using pseudonyms such as Charlotte G. Homer. The total number of his compositions is estimated at about seven thousand. Gabriel's gospel songs became widely circulated through the Billy Sunday-Homer Rodeheaver urban crusades. Bert Polman
