God Will Answer a Mother's Prayer

Author: C. H. M. Hymnal: Revival Praises #116 (1907) First Line: Has the time been long since in agony Refrain First Line: Pray on, pray on, fond heart, pray on Lyrics: 1 Has the time been long since in agony, Unto God your heart first cried For your wand'ring boy, who had strayed afar From a loving mother's side? Has your courage failed as the years have flown, With your boy unsaved? yet still pray on. Chorus: Pray on, pray on, fond heart, pray on, God will hear your pray'r for your wandering one; Tho' the years have been long, do not despair, God will answer a mother's pray'r. 2 It is not in vain you have called to Him, And your faithful vigil kept; He has heard your cry, and has seen your tears, As in anguish you have wept, You shall reap in joy, tho' in tears you've sown, Let your faith hold fast, and still pray on. [Chorus] 3 For His word is true, and His heart is kind, Tho' His answer seems delayed; In His own good way, in His own good time, Thou shalt see His pow'r displayed; For the night will fade, and the morning dawn, Then in patience wait, and still pray on. [Chorus] Tune Title: [Has the time been long since in agony]
