Going to the Front

Author: James Rowe Appears in 1 hymnal First Line: Following the King before us Refrain First Line: There to fight Lyrics: 1 Following the King before us, Marching in his light, Learning how to fight For the truth and right; With love’s banner waving o’er us, And our armour bright, We are going to the front. Chorus: There to fight With our might For the right, We are going to the front. 2 Free from trouble, care and sadness, Happy here below, Singing as we go, Fearing not the foe, Thanking Jesus for the gladness Which today we know, We are going to the front. [Chorus] 3 Well assured that he will guard us, Guide us and defend, Strength and courage lend, When our own we spend; And assured that he’ll reward us When the fight shall end, We are going to the front. [Chorus] Topics: Martial; Primary; Warfare and Victory Used With Tune: [Following the King before us]
