Person Name: anónimo Author of "Oh Dios, Mi Soberano Rey" in Himnario Bautista In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries.

Acadia University, B.A., 1929; St. Stephen's College (Edmonton), B.D., 1935; Emmanuel College (Toronto), Th.D., 1952. Pastorates at Middleton (1930-1933) and Amherst, Nova Scotia (1936-1938); Edmonton, Alberta (1933-1936). Director of Christian Education for the Baptist Union of Western Canada, 1938-1942; editor, Canadian Baptist Sunday School Publications, 1942-1948; general secretary of the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec, 1948-1955; secretary-treasurer, Baptist Federation of Canada, 1955-1959; vice-president, Acadia University, 1959-1961; president, Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, 1961-1967; retired to Amherst, N.S. His books and articles deal mostly with liturgical topics, except for his autobiography, Unforgettable Encounters, which he published privately in 1974. --Hugh D.
