Surrounded by a world of need

Author: Fred Kaan (b. 1929) Appears in 2 hymnals Lyrics: 1 Surrounded by a world of need, by men to heal, to house and feed, our mind is given to despair, and hope is undermined by war. Yet through the fabric of our time there runs the liberating theme of love that makes the world go round, of love creative and profound. 2 This love is in the face of Christ, in human life, made manifest; its strong intent will conquer all, it raises people when they fall. Then help us, Lord, to understand the good your purpose put in man, and use, to bring your reign about, those in the church and those without. Topics: Close of Worship; God--in Jesus Christ Hope of the World; World and Society Justice and Peace Used With Tune: ASKERSWELL
