Author: Mrs. C. H. M. Hymnal: United Praise #7 (1908) First Line: A tidal wave is drawing near, is coming sure and soon Refrain First Line: 'Tis coming by and by Lyrics: 1 A tidal wave is drawing near, is coming sure and soon, Salvation full and free shall over all the world be known; The gospel preached in every clime and land beneath the sun, ‘Tis coming, ‘tis coming, ‘tis coming by and by. Refrain: ‘Tis coming by and by, ‘tis coming by and by, The dawning of a better day lights up the eastern sky; The jubilee of holiness on rapid wings draws nigh, ‘Tis coming, ‘tis coming, ‘tis coming by and by. 2 A tidal wave of gospel power by prophets long foretold, When God his Spirit shall outpour upon the young and old; Your daughters and your sons shall prophesy with courage bold, ‘Tis coming, ‘tis coming, ‘tis coming by and by. [Refrain] 3 Be glad, ye children of our God, rejoice in Christ your King, Into the storehouse of the Lord your tithes and off’rings bring; ‘Tis near at hand, that glorious day, lift up your voice and sing, ‘Tis coming, ‘tis coming, ‘tis coming by and by. [Refrain] Scripture: Joel 2:28 Tune Title: [A tidal wave is drawing near]
