While On the Sea

Author: Anonymous; Stephen Bilak; Jack Boyd Hymnal: Great Songs of the Church (Revised) #539 (1986) First Line: While on the sea hear the terrible roaring Lyrics: 1 While on the sea hear the terrible roaring; See how the boat of my life rolls with me; In fear of death and in deepest of anguish. Lord, hear my prayer, watch my soul on the sea. 2 Save me, O merciful Father, forgive me; How as my life with its ending I see. My youthful strength has been spent in the battle. Lord, now I beg You, have mercy on me. 3 I have no strength left to aid on my journy; Help me to reach that fair land past the sea; Help me to travel to my native country. Lord, now I beg You, have mercy on me. Topics: Christian Life; Courage; Devotion; Loyalty; Temptation Scripture: Psalm 107:29 Languages: English Tune Title: UKRAINE

Author of "While On the Sea" in Great Songs of the Church (Revised) In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries.
