1889 - 1965 Composer of "[There was one song in the beginning]" in Youth Sings Howard L. Brown was director of California Christian Endeavor (international church youth organization) between 1930-1940. In those years this was a large organization, especially in LA-Orange County area. He wrote many spiritual songs along with his wife Margaret.
