1897 - 1995 Harmonizer of "[Oft we meet with disappointment]" in Silver Trumpets McCoy, Otis Leon. (Ninety-Six, South Carolina, February 17, 1897--?). Church of God. Minister, music editor, and songwriter. Graduate of James D. Vaughan Conservatory. Organized the music department of the Church of God Publishing House as Tennessee Music and Printing Company in 1931. Served as music editor for a total of 23 years. Retired in 1961 and continued to be quite active as a tenor soloist. Best known songs: "Naturalized for Heaven" and "Send Me." --Charles L. Towler, DNAH Archives

Bernice M. Brostrom

Author of "I have chosen you" in Songs of the Redeemed Berniece Marie Cannon Brostrom USA 1914-1992. Born at Oakville, IA, one of five children, not much information was found about her, although she was adept at writing verse. In 1934 she married Rv Ralph Maurice Brostrom, and they had a son, Dennis Raymond. Her husband pastored in the Dakotas, MN, CA, and worked in administration for a Bible college in Canada. She died at Bloomington, MN (age 78). She is said to have written a good number of hymn lyrics and other songs. Her husband died in MN in 2001. John Perry
