There's Grace and Glory Too

Author: T. M. Eastwood Hymnal: New Songs of the Gospel No. 3 #24 (1907) First Line: O the grace of God is boundless Lyrics: 1 O the grace of God is boundless, It is like a mighty sea, And it rolls on thro’ the ages, Bearing love to you and me; But the Lord’s so great in goodness, That he opens heav’n to view, And not only gives us mercy, But he gives us glory too. Refrain: There’s grace and glory too, There’s grace and glory too, There’s grace below for weal or woe, And then there’s glory too. 2 There is grace for each temptation, There is strength for ev’ry day, There’s a lift for ev’ry burden That we carry on the way; There’s a refuge from the tempest, There is help for all we do, And when we shall end the journey, We will find there’s glory too. [Refrain] 3 For the grace that God has given I will praise him in my song, I will love him and will serve him, While my days of life prolong; And when I shall get to heaven, And my journey I review, Then I’ll bless his name for ever, That there’s grace and glory too. [Refrain] Tune Title: [O the grace of God is boundless]

Mary Hubbert Munford

Person Name: Mary Herbert Munford Composer of "[O the grace of God is boundless]" in New Songs of the Gospel No. 3 Mary Hubbert Mumford Ellis married to Joseph Cannon Ellis, both ordained minsters, take turns in preaching to their congregation at the Munford Primitive Methodist Church (in Philadelphia) They give their services without pay. Dr. Ellis, who is a practicing surgeon, conducts regular meetings in the church. His wife bears the title of assistant pastor. "I do not believe in a pastor accepting money for his church work" says Mrs. Ellis. "He–or she–should have other employment during the week and earn enough in that way to obviate such a necessity. We don't make any rule about who is to preach on a certain day. It depends on which of us the congregation seems to need most at a certain time." During the fifteen years of their married life, Dr. Ellis and his wife have conducted evangelical services in many sections of the county. The Washington Post Sunday, September 11, 1927, p. 35
