Joint Heirs with Christ

Author: Margaret E. M. Sangster Hymnal: Sacred Songs No. 2 #116 (1899) First Line: Joint heirs with Christ the blessed Refrain First Line: If children, then heirs, heirs of God Lyrics: 1 Joint heirs with Christ the Blessed, The Father’s only Son, So lifted into equal place With that beloved One, So, given rights of sonship Before the Father’s face, So, made the heir of all things, By heav’n’s most royal grace. Refrain: If children, then heirs; Heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ; If so be that we suffer with Him, That we may also be glorified, Be glorified together with Him. 2 Join heir with Christ the Holy, The Christ-life mine to live, And ev’ry day some sacrifice Of mine own will to give. O hope that casts its glory, A charm o’er daily care, And gives me joy and freedom Oft as I kneel in prayer. [Refrain] 3 Joint heir with Christ in heaven, Joint heir with Christ on earth, Made equal in the Father’s sight, Divinely dowered in birth. Accepted by the Father, Uplifted by the Son, I shall be loved as Christ is loved And dwell anear His throne. [Refrain] Topics: Grace Scripture: Romans 8:17 Tune Title: [Joint heirs with Christ the blessed]
