A Joyful Song

Author: Tina Spencer Appears in 3 hymnals First Line: A joyful song I love to sing Refrain First Line: Sing glory, sing glory! Lyrics: 1 A joyful song I love to sing Of Jesus, of Jesus, The chords that thro’ my spirit ring, But speak of precious Jesus; The blessèd name I can but sing; Afar from home He sought me, And in the fullness of His love, His great salvation brought me. Refrain: Sing glory, sing glory! And praise forever bringing; The love of Jesus, precious love! I cannot keep from singing. 2 My hope and joy, my sunshine bright, Is Jesus, my Jesus; His presence is my chief delight, My heart is filled with Jesus: And while that love throbs thro’ and thro’ In bonding pulse of pleasure, My songs shall be both glad and free, I would not change the measure. [Refrain] 3 Oh, come and join the songs I sing, Of Jesus, of Jesus! And let the glory-anthems ring, Thro’ all the earth for Jesus; Then all a-tune thy soul shall join The angel choirs of Heaven; The gates of pearl will soon unfurl, And endless praise be given. [Refrain] Used With Tune: [A joyful song I love to sing] Text Sources: Our Praise in Song by John Sweney, William J. Kirkpatrick and Henry L. Gilmour (Philadelphia: John J. Hood, 1893)
