1 O Morning Star, how fair and bright
Your beams shine forth in truth and light!
O Sovereign meek and lowly!
O Root of Jesse, David's Son,
Our Lord and Master, you hast won
Our hearts to serve you solely!
You are holy,
Fair and glorious, all victorious,
Rich in blessing,
Rule and might o'er all possessing.
2 Come, heavenly Brightness! Light divine!
O deep within our hearts now shine,
And make you there an altar!
Fill us with joy and strength to be
Your members joined unity
In love that cannot falter!
Toward you longing
Does possess us; turn and bless us;
Here in sadness
Eye and heart long for your gladness!
3 Rejoice, O heavens; and earth reply!
With praise, you sinners, fill the sky,
For this his incarnation.
Incarnate God, put forth your power;
Ride on, ride on, great Conqueror,
Till all know your salvation.
Amen, Amen!
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise be given
Evermore by earth and heaven.
Amen.
