Text: | In the Fulness of Thy Mercy |
Author: | E. E. Hewitt |
Tune: | [In Thy name, divine Redeemer] |
Composer: | Chas. H. Gabriel, Jr. |
1 In Thy name, divine Redeemer,
We are gath’ring at Thy feet;
Let the glory-cloud, descending,
Rest upon the mercy-seat.
Thro’ Thy merits we are pleading
For the bliss of perfect love;
Let it come just now, we pray Thee,
While we lift our hearts above.
Refrain:
In the fulness of Thy mercy,
In the greatness of Thy pow’r,
Let the blessing fall upon us
Like a Pentecostal show’r.
2 In the blood of Thy atonement
Thou hast wash’d away our sin,
But we long for closer union,
And a clearer light within.
There are heights of joy before us
That our souls by faith may climb;
We may breathe the air of Eden
Tho’ we tread the shores of time. [Refrain]
3 With our all upon the altar,
While we linger at the throne,
Consecrate us now and ever
To Thy will, and Thine alone;
By that lowly consecration,
Saved and sealed thro’ grace divine,
Cleansed anew with ev’ry moment,
We, in life or death, are Thine. [Refrain]
