Wie gross ist des Allmächtgen Güte. C. F. Gellert [Praise. ] A beautiful hymn of thanksgiving for the goodness of God, one of the finest and most popular of Gellert's productions. First published in his Geistliche Oden und Lieder, Leipzig, 1757, p. 34, in 6 stanzas of 8 lines, entitled, "The Goodness of God." Included in the Berlin Gesang-Buch, 1765, No. 20, in almost all subsequent collections, and recently in the Berlin Geistliche Lieder, ed. 1863. Translated as :—
How bounteous our Creator's blessing. A good and full translation by A. T. Russell, as No. 204 in his Psalms & Hymns, 1851.
