Representative Text

1 There is a place of perfect rest,
Under the blood, under the blood;
A hiding place, supremely blest,
Under the blood of Jesus.

Chorus:
O yes, there’s safety under the blood,
Under the blood, under the blood;
The Lord can save you under the blood,
Under the blood of the Lamb.

2 God saved His people long ago,
Under the blood, under the blood;
He’ll save and make you white as snow,
Under the blood of Jesus. [Chorus]

3 Come, bury here your sinful past,
Under the blood, under the blood;
Remorse can ne’er a shadow cast,
Under the blood of Jesus. [Chorus]

4 If you remain till life is past,
Under the blood, under the blood,
You’ll find the gate of Heav’n at last,
Under the blood of Jesus. [Chorus]

At the age of nineteen he joined the M.E. Church, and a few years later he was granted a license to preach the Gospel, and still later he was regularly ordained by Bishop Merrill. However, Mr. Oatman only serves as a local preacher. For many years he was engaged with his father in the mercantile business at Lumberton… Go to person page >
