மேய்ப்பரும் நடுங்கிட,
விண்ணில் பேரொளி வீசிடவே,
தேவ தூதரும் பாடிடவே,
கிறிஸ்து தோன்றினாரே,
கிறிஸ்தேசு தோன்றினாரே.

தந்தையின் மைந்தனாம்,
ஒளிர்விடும் உந்தன் திவ்ய முகம்,

A choirboy in Salzburg Cathedral as a youth, Mohr studied at Salzburg University and was ordained in the Roman Catholic Church in 1815.
