Representative Text

1 O my heart is full of gladness since by faith I saw the Lord,
And the burden of my sins rolled away;
There’s a living hope within me since I heard His pard’ning word,
Now the burden of my sin has rolled away.

Refrain:
Rolled away, rolled away,
Now the burden of my sin has rolled away;
Rolled away, rolled away,
Hallelujah! All my burdens rolled away.

2 Tho’ the tempest rage without me, He has fill’d my heart with peace,
And the burden of my sins rolled away;
There’s a song of gladness ringing in my soul, that shall not cease,
And the burden of my sins rolled away. [Refrain]

3 Everlasting mercy guides me all along my pilgrim way,
And the burden of my sins rolled away;
I will tell the blessed story of His love from day to day,
And the burden of my sins rolled away. [Refrain]

4 I’ve a hope both sure and steadfast, reaching past all earthly care,
And the burden of my sins rolled away;
Now a mansion bright, in heaven Jesus for me will prepare,
And the burden of my sins rolled away. [Refrain]
