Representative Text

1 My mother’s old Bible is pointing the way;
Its precepts I’ll follow from day unto day;
I care not what others around me may say,
For my mother’s old Bible is true.

Refrain:
My mother’s old Bible is true,
My mother’s old Bible is true;
It tells of God’s love, sent down from above,
My mother’s old Bible is true.

2 It tells of a Savior who came here to die,
And now He is living in glory on high;
It tells of salvation so wondrously nigh,
And my mother’s old Bible is true. [Refrain]

3 Away with the teachings that wickedly mock,
My mother’s old Bible has stood every shock;
It gives living water that flows from the Rock,
And my mother’s old Bible is true. [Refrain]

4 My mother’s old Bible is precious to me,
If tells of God’s mercy, abundant and free;
It brings joy and comfort wherever I be,
For my mother’s old Bible is true. [Refrain]
