Jesu, Heiland, Steu're du

Representative Text

1 Jesu, Heiland, steu're Du
Sicher mich dem Hafen zu.
Führe mich durch Sturmesnot,
Führ' mich, wo die Klippe broht.
Sicher komme ich an's Land,
Hält das Steuer Deine Hand.

2 Tost der Wind und schäumt das Meer,
Sprich ein Wort! Du bist ihr Herr!
Sieh', die Woge schweigt; der Wind,
Atmet wie ein schlummernd Kind;
Sturmesbrausen sinkt zur Ruh',
Jesu, Heiland, steu're Du.

3 Nah' ich endlich mich dem Land,
Wo die Brandung bricht am Strand,
Bist Du dann, mein Heiland, nah',
Bleibt mein Herze still auch da.
Mit der Hand am Steuer sprich:
„Fürchte nichts, ich steu're dich."
