Representative Text

1 If you have been praying for blessings,
Remember, when sending your plea,
The doors of God’s storehouse swing open,
When faith reaches out with the key.

Refrain:
When faith reaches out with the key,
All heaven is open for thee;
The doors of God’s storehouse swing open,
When faith reaches out with the key.

2 The blessings of heaven are boundless,
The mercies of heaven are free,—
And all may be yours for the asking,
When faith reaches out with the key. [Refrain]

3 For grace or for pow’r are you pleading?
If more use to God would you be?
You’ll surely receive what you’re needing,
When faith reaches out with the key. [Refrain]

4 And would you sometime reach that city
That stands by the bright crystal sea?
The Lord will prepare you for glory,
When faith reaches out with the key. [Refrain]

Outside of the usual time spent in the public schools, Mr. Oatman received his education at Herbert's Academy, Princetown, N. J., and the New Jersey Collegiate Institute, Bordentown, N. J. At the age of nineteen he joined the M.E. Church, and a few years later he was granted a license to preach the Gospel, and still later he was regularly ordained by Bishop Merrill. However, Mr. Oatman only serves as a local preacher. For many years he was engaged with his father in the mercantile business at Lumberton… Go to person page >
