Representative Text

1 Close to the heart of Jesus,
Close to His wounded side,
Sheltered from ev’ry danger
Here I will e’er abide.

Refrain:
Close to the heart of Jesus,
Nearer to Him each day,
List’ning to ev’ry whisper,
Gladly I’ll Him obey;
Close to the heart of Jesus,
O what a resting place!
Here will I ever linger
Until I see His face.

2 Close to the heart of Jesus,
Fellowship sweet, divine;
I am His ransomed servant,
He is forever mine. [Refrain]

3 Close to the heart of Jesus,
Folded in arms of love;
Never will we be parted
Here or in Heav’n above. [Refrain]
