Representative Text

1 Be Thou my Guide, dear Lord, I pray,
Walk Thou beside me all the way;
Life’s rugged path will joyful be
If Thou but walk therein with me.

Refrain:
Be Thou my Guide where’er I stray;
Walk Thou beside me all the way, all the way;
Walk Thou beside me,
Walk Thou beside me,
Walk Thou beside me all the way, all the way.

2 Be Thou my Guide where’er I go,
Whate’er betide me here below;
Keep Thou my steps within the way
That leads me on to endless day. [Refrain]

3 Be Thou my Guide, my all in all,
My faithful friend whate’er befall;
I will not fear or troubled be
While Thou art near to comfort me. [Refrain]
