Person Name: Anon. Author of "Our children Thou dost claim" in Evangelical Hymnal In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries.

1725 - 1795 Author of "Our children thou dost claim" in The Wesleyan Methodist Hymnal Williams, Benjamin, 1725-1795. Presbyterian minister at Salisbury, who in addition to a volume of Sermons, 1770, and the Salisbury Hymn Book, 1778, published The Book of Psalms as translated, paraphrased or imitated by some of the most eminent English poets, &c. Salisbury, 1781. His best known hymn, "Holy, holy, holy Lord," in celebration of the Divine Goodness, is in his own Collection, Kippis, Martineau’s Hymns for the Christian Church and Home, Martineau’s Hymns of Praise and Prayer, and Belfast Collection.
