Russell Kelso Carter
1849 - 1928 Person Name: Capt. Kelso Carter Author of "Consider Him" in Garden of Spices Russel Kelso Carter was a professor in the Pennsylvania Military College of Chester. While there he was licensed to preach by the Methodist Episcopal Church. He became very active in leading camp meetings and revivals. After failing health forced him to abandon this work, he studied and became a medical doctor as well as a writer. He wrote novels as well as hymns.

1864 - 1926 Person Name: Fannie Birdsall Composer of "[He calms the strife of the warring will]" in Garden of Spices Born: October 24, 1864. Died: February 9, 1926. Buried: Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Fannie was the daughter of Paul Birdsall, and wife of George Elza Bula. Her works include:
