Author of "Hail, true Body, born of Mary" in CPWI Hymnal In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries.

Henry Nutcombe Oxenham

1829 - 1888 Person Name: H. N. Oxenham, 1829-1888 Translator of "Hail, true Body, born of Mary" in Common Praise Oxenham, Henry Nutcombe, M.A., was born at Harrow in 1829, educated at Harrow, and Balliol College, Oxford (B.A. 1850, M.A. 1854). He was in 1856 curate of St. Bartholomew, Cripplegate, London. After joining the Church of Rome in 1857 he was for some time master at St. Edmund's College near Ware, and then at the Oratory School, Birmingham. He died March 23, 1888. His hymns and translations are principally in his Manual of Devotions for the Blessed Sacrament, 1854, and his Sentence of Kaires, 1854 (2nd ed. 1867). [Rev. John Dykes Bower

1905 - 1981 Person Name: John B. Dykes Composer of "STANDISH" in Anglican Hymns Old and New (Rev. and Enl.) Sir John Dykes Bower CVO (13 August 1905 – 1981) was an English cathedral organist, who served in Truro Cathedral, Durham Cathedral and St Paul's Cathedral. John Dykes Bower was born on 13 August 1905 in Gloucester. He was one of four brothers. Stephen Dykes Bower became a famous church architect. He was educated at Cheltenham College and studied organ under Herbert Brewer, and was organ scholar at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge from 1922.
