Author of "Thy Blessing, O Lord" in The Cyber Hymnal In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries.

G. L. Mosmann

Author of "Thy blessing, O Lord" in Elmhurst Hymnal Georg Ludwig Mosmann, born 1808 in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. He studied theology in Tübingen, Germany and while we was there he taught children and wrote "Herr segne uns du" for them. He died in 1831. From Leben und Ende eines jungen Gerechten, Namens georg Ludwig Mosmann, gewesenen Pfarrers zu Beggingen, aufgezeichnet von einem Fruende" by J. J. Schalch, Schaffhausen, 1834
