John R. Clements

1868 - 1946 Author of "I'm Happy in Jesus" John R. Clements was born in County Armagh, Ireland 28 November 1868 and was brought to the United States at the age of two years. He worked at the age of thirteen as a retail grocery clerk and had a successful wholesale grocery business. He began writing poetry when he was young. Elderkin and his wife Margaret were living in Cook County, Illinois, in 1900 & 1910. By 1920, he was in Princeton, New Jersey, and was there as late as 1942.
