Pauline Michael Mills

1898 - 1991 Person Name: Pauline M. Mills Hymnal Number: 56 Composer of "[Thou art worthy]" in Favorites Number 9 In her teens, Pauline was a pianist for Stockton, California, area churches. In 1975, she was ordained by L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles. On an evangelism tour, her son told a congregation to offer their favorite scripture and--without telling her in advance--said his mother would write music for it before the service was over. Baynard L. Fox

1932 - 1982 Person Name: B. L. F. Hymnal Number: 26 Author of "I’ll Tell the World" in Favorites Number 9 Baynard Layne Fox USA 1932-1982. Born at Louisville, KY, his family lived at St Matthews, KY, when he was age 7. He was musically inclined. Not much information found regarding his life. He married Mary Darlene Tarter (1932-2020), and they had a daughter, Lois Elayne. At some point he became a writer, composer, and music editor. He wrote songs and cantatas, possibly for the Fred Bock Music Company (as that name is related to some of his work). He also directed the Atlanta Christian Chorus, an interdenominational and inter-racial group of 140 members representing 10 denominations and 65 churches in the Atlanta metro area. Some of his cantatas include: ‘The Christmas Spirit’ (1962); ‘A New Creation’ 1969); ‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant’ (1970); ‘When God steps in Choir Book’ (1976). His wife worked for Amoco Oil Company (time period not found). He died at Tucker, GA. John Perry

Charles F. Brown

b. 1942 Person Name: C. F. B. Hymnal Number: 40 Author of "Part the Waters" in Favorites Number 9 Charles Franklin Brown USA 1942- Born at Nixon, TX, he was the son of a Baptist minister. He attended high school at Beeville, TX. He married Sherene Brown and he spent four years in the Navy, and they traveled to his various naval assignments around the world. No information found regarding family. During his military service he also taught in the naval School of Music at Virginia Beach, VA. He later lived at Nixon, TX, and attended Baylor U, Baylor, TX, and Southern Methodist U, University Park, TX, receiving music degrees. He worked with Word Records, Waco, TX, as a publisher. One of his music books is: ‘Sing & Celebrate’. He was an orchestra conductor and music arranger. He mentored and inspired many musicians over the years. He died at Waco, TX. John Perry
