Palmer, Albert G. (North Stonington, Connecticut, May 11, 1813--June 30, 1891, Stonington). Baptist. Classical and theological study at Kingston and Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and Andover, Massachusetts. Pastorates at Westerly, R.I., 1837-1843; Stonington, Conn., 1843-1852; First Baptist Church, Syracuse, New York, 1852-1855; Birdgeport, Conn., 1855-1858; Wakefield, R.I., 1858-1861; Stonington, 1861-1891. Published Psalms of Faith and Songs of Life (1884). Author of "If there's a time completely blest" in Select Hymns, Lindsley and Davis publishers, 1836. Translated Latin hymn of Musculus entitled "The Dying Christian to his Soul." Poet John G. Whittier said of Psalms of Faith and Songs of Life that "the religious pieces are especially valuable. The airs of heaven seem flowing over them."
