Mrs. Ruth Carruth was married to Roy Carruth, a Gospel Preacher, wounded in World War I. He preached for numerous small churches of Christ. Ruth was a public school teacher most of her life and a prolific poetess. Her husband was serving as an Elder for the East Paradise church of Christ in Vernon, TX when she wrote these words.
