Rev. A. J. F. Behrends, D.D. was pastor of the Union Congregational Church in Providence in Mar. 15, 1876. He also served as pastor of the Central Congregational Church, Brooklyn, N.Y. for seventeen years and was a member of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions.
