Ballou, Moses. (Monroe, Massachusetts, May 24, 1811--May 19, 1879, Atoo, New Jersey). Ordained to the UNiversalist ministry in 1835, serving churches in Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Bridgeport and Hartford, Connecticut; Philadelphia and New York. A hymn in two stanzas beginning "We now invoke thy blessing" is attributed to him and is included in Church Harmonies, New and Old.
