Aamodt, Margaret D. (Mrs. H. Oscar Aamodt). (Cuyuna Iron Range, northern Minnesota, December 14, 1910-- ). Lutheran. Daughter of Roy and Effie Cunningham. Lake Mills, Iowa High School, 1929. Editor of Graphic, a printing journal, in Lake Mills and news correspondent and staff writer for several local papers. Author of a book of poems, Through Country Lanes (1963), of many poems published in newspapers and magazines, and a number of hymns, one of which, "Send forth the word," was published by The Hymn Society in 1966 in Fifteen New Bible Hymns. Poetry has been a lifelong interest, and her work in this field brought her several awards from the Iowa Press Women's Association and membership in several state, national, and international poetry groups. Was for many years a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Joice, Iowa.
