Text: | O Lord, Our God, Most Earnestly |
Tune: | STRACATHRO |
Composer: | Charles Hutcheson |
Harmonizer: | Geoffrey Shaw |
1 O Lord, our God, most earnestly
Our hearts would seek your face,
Within your holy house once more
To see your glorious grace.
2 Apart from you we long and thirst,
And none can satisfy;
We wander in a desert land
Where all the streams run dry.
3 The loving-kindness of our God
Is life's security;
So we will bless you while we live
And pray unceasingly.
4 In you our souls are satisfied,
Our darkness turns to light,
And joyful meditations fill
The watches of the night.
5 O Savior, 'neath your sheltering wings
Our souls delight to dwell;
Still closer to your side we press,
For near you all is well.
Amen.
