139. Will I Bring Any Sheaves?

1 When the sunset of time fades away in the sky,
And the fields yield their harvests so fair,
When the ranks of the reapers shall gather on high,
Will I bring any sheaves with me there?

Refrain:
Any sheaves for the Lord, any sheaves will I bring
To the garners, eternally fair?
When the reapers shall sing, and the glory-bells ring,
Will I bring any sheaves with me there?

2 Not the joy of the harvest for those who neglect
The sweet service of Jesus below;
But for those who go forth, as His word shall direct,
With the love of the Master aglow. [Refrain]

3 Let me sow the good seed, let me nurture the grain;
Let me toil, as He shows me the way;
He will make it to grow, in the sun, in the rain,
And some sheaves will I bind, “in that day.” [Refrain]
