1 O it is wonderful! when I was drearily
Wandering far in the gloom of the night,
Christ, the Good Shepherd, came, calling so cheerily,
Bringing me into his marvelous light.

2 O it is wonderful! safely enfolding me
With the strong arms of his infinite grace;
“Moment by moment,” so kindly upholding me,

From evil foes that my soul would ensnare;
All that I need he is richly providing me,
Bidding me cast upon him every care. [Refrain]

In the green pastures of mercy and love;
