139. Tasting the Joys

1 Starving and thirsting I came to the Savior,
Pray’d to be fed on the life-giving bread;
Now at His table my soul he is feasting,
Food in abundance before me is spread.

Chorus:
Now I am tasting the joys of salvation,
Feeding my soul with the glory divine,
Freely accepting of Christ’s invitation,
Filled to o’erflowing is this soul of mine.

2 Furnished the table with food sweet as honey,
Cups running over with mercy divine,
Surely a banquet of good things in plenty
Has He prepared for this poor soul of mine. [Chorus]

3 Draughts cool, refreshing from life’s crystal fountain
Here I may give to my weak, thirsty soul,
Here I can feed on the heavenly manna,
While I the name of my Savior extol. [Chorus]
