Text: | Under His Wings |
Author: | Rev. Johnson Oatman, Jr. |
Tune: | [A wonderful promise God's given] |
Composer: | Tali Esen Morgan |
1 A wonderful promise God’s given,
What joy to the Christian it brings;
That all who are striving for heaven
Find refuge under His wings.
Refrain:
Under His wings abiding,
Under His wings I’m hiding;
He with His mercy covers my soul,
I’m hiding under His wings.
2 How often in dark nights of sorrow
My spirit to Him looks and sings,
Because I find hope for the morrow,
While resting under His wings. [Refrain]
3 And when I have need of refreshing,
He leads me to life-giving springs;
And there I receive a great blessing,
While shielded under His wings. [Refrain]
4 When, like all the ransom’d immortals,
My soul to that City He brings,
I’ll find that those glorious portals
Are entered under His wings. [Refrain]
