Text: | Living for Others |
Author: | Ina Duley Ogdon |
Tune: | [Blessed are we that our lives may be given] |
Composer: | J. C. Williams |
1 Blessed are we that our lives may be given
In service for others from day unto day;
Striving to rescue the lost and the driven,
As lights brightly shining on life’s stormy way.
Refrain:
Living for others for love of the Master,
Seeking the needy wherever they be;
Spreading the sunshine of love everlasting,
Souls from the bondage of darkness to free.
2 Blessed to go with His message appealing,
To proffer the gift of His promises true;
Bearing His life and His light all revealing,
Each talent employing His work to pursue. [Refrain]
3 Blessed are we that we may live His story,
That all we may do by the pow’r of His love;
Unto His wonderful name be the glory!
We pray for His grace ever faithful to prove. [Refrain]
