Notes: | Although notated as 6/8, the rhythm here is a combination of 6/8 and 3/4. With the exception of one measure, the accompaniment needs to keep a consistent 3/4 feel throughout. The melody is primarily in 6/8 but playfully slips into 3/4 here and there. (The beaming of the eighth notes marks these shifts.) It would be helpful to the singers to have some percussion instrument, such as a woodblock, keep the 3/4 pulse, with other percussion instruments, such as shakers or triangle, marking the 6/8 rhythm. |
