64. The Lamp of Faith

1 Oh, take the lamp of faith!
Let grace the oil supply;
Its beams shall glow with hope and love,
Thy God to glorify.

Refrain:
O precious, precious light!
We’ll bless thy heav’nly ray;
While walking by the light of faith
We’ll sing along the way,
We’ll sing, we’ll sing,
We’ll sing along the way.

2 Yes, take the lamp of faith!
Ne’er dark thy path shall be;
For light shall chase away the gloom,
And shadows quickly flee. [Refrain]

3 Then take the lamp of faith;
Perchance its golden light
May fall around another’s feet
And make his pathway bright. [Refrain]
