109. 'Twill Be All Joy in the Bye and Bye

1 Over on the other side of Jordan
There’s a land that mortal eye can never see,
Bye and bye, I have His precious promise,
I shall reach its shore, if I’ll faithful be.

Chorus:
Bye and bye, when my work is ended,
Bye and bye, with my Lord ascended,
In that heav’nly land, redeemed I’ll stand,
‘Twill be all joy in the bye and bye.

2 How my longing heart is fill’d with rapture
At the thought of Jesus being over there
Building mansions in yon heav’nly city,
That its wondrous joys I at last may share. [Chorus]

3 What assurance to the “sore afflicted,”
“There no trouble cometh,” neither grief nor pain,
With our lov’d ones to be reunited,
And to know we never shall part again. [Chorus]

4 O the glory that shall be revealed
When I meet my blessed Saviour face to face,
All eternity is not sufficient
Just to render thanks for His boundless grace. [Chorus]
