Text: | The Sun That Shall Never Go Down |
Author: | E. E. Hewitt |
Tune: | [There are sunbeams of joy] |
Composer: | J. Wesley Hughes |
1 There are sunbeams of joy that our Father bestows,
From His merciful hand every gift freely flows;
And we walk, day by day, tho’ the clouds darkly frown,
In the light of the sun that shall never go down.
Refrain:
The sun that shall never go down;
Earth’s shadows with glory shall crown;
In the fullness of love, from the Father above,
Is the light of the sun that shall never go down.
2 There are blossoms of earth that we prize as they spring;
And we use them in serving our Saviour and King;
But we seek for the flow’rs that will never decay,
As we walk in the light that shall fade not away. [Refrain]
3 There are shadows that oft hide the clear smiling sky;
But the glory divine still is shining on high;
And the spirit of peace will His comfort restore,
In the light of the sun that shall set nevermore. [Refrain]
