37. A Never-Failing Providence

1 Early in the morning, at the break of day,
With our Father’s blessing, start we on our way;
Though the clouds o’ershadow, we shall not despair,
We’re abiding in the promise of God’s care.

Refrain:
“Every good gift and every perfect gift
If from above, and cometh down
From the Father of lights, from the Father of lights,
With whom is no shadow of turning.”

2 In our Father’s goodness, all along life’s way,
Every need supplying, coming day by day;
Giving is His pleasure, all with us to share;
We’re abiding in the promise of God’s care. [Refrain]

3 Health and strength He giveth, harvest with the rain,
Grace for every trial, sorrow, joy or pain;
Persecution blessing, ever thine to share;
We’re abiding in the promise of God’s care. [Refrain]

4 Unto Him we’re singing songs of lasting praise,
For the Father’s blessing, filling all our ways;
Nothing He witholdeth, doth His Word declare;
We’re abiding in the promise of God’s care. [Refrain]
