35. Sheltered in the Lord

1 There are lights hung out from the walls of heav’n
To cheer us on our way,
There’s a harbor safe for the tempest tossed,
In realms of endless day.

Refrain:
O there’s rest, sweet rest,
When sheltered in the Lord;
We are safe for time and eternity,
If we lean upon His word.

2 There’s a mighty rock in this weary land,
beneath its shade we rest
From the burning heat of the noonday sun,
When troubled and oppressed. [Refrain]

3 There’s an open door we may enter in,
And find from sin release,
‘Tis the grace of God, hear His blessed “come
And I will give you peace.” [Refrain]
