84. Written in Heaven

1 Written in heaven, O glorious tho’t!
This consolation to me Christ hath bro’t;
Contrite, repenting, unto Him I came,
Angels in heaven recorded my name.

Refrain:
Written in heaven in letters that glow,
Tho’ I’m a pilgrim and stranger below,
I am rejoicing as onward I go,
For my name has been written in heaven.

2 Written in heaven, in this I rejoice,
Since I have made the Redeemer my choice;
Naught can disturb the sweet peace I possess,
While to the Savior my soul answers, “Yes.” [Refrain]

3 Walking with Jesus I press tow’rds the goal,
He will protect me, sustaining my soul;
Nothing can separate me from His love,
With my name written in heaven above. [Refrain]

4 Now I am striving His will here to do,
Unto my Lord I will ever be true;
Heaven I’ll enter while angels acclaim,
When in life’s evening He calleth my name. [Refrain]
