Text: | My Heart Breathes a Welcome |
Author: | E. E. Hewitt |
Tune: | [In youth's sunny morning, while gay blossoms spring] |
Composer: | Broughton Edwards |
1 In youth’s sunny morning, while gay blossoms spring,
And carols of joy fill the air,
My heart breathes a welcome to Jesus my King,
Who came as a Child, pure and fair.
Refrain:
A welcome to Jesus my heart breathes today;
To Him will I joyfully sing;
The Child who was born in the land far away,
Is now my Redeemer and King.
2 His merciful arms still His children enfold;
His blessing enriches our ways;
My life’s loving service I would not withhold,
But cheerfully give Him my days. [Refrain]
3 A welcome, glad welcome, to Jesus my Lord,
Who came to redeem me from sin;
His mercies, like sunbeams, are round me outpoured;
A crown, by His grace, I shall win. [Refrain]
