1 Lord, through the dubious paths of life,
Thy feeble servant guide;
Supported by thy powerful arm,
My footsteps shall not slide.
2 The thee, O my unerring guide!
I would myself resign;
In all my ways acknowledge thee,
And form my will by thine.
3 Thus shall each blessing of thine hand
Be doubly sweet to me;
And in new griefs I still shall have
A refuge, Lord, in thee.
4 Lord, by thy counsel whilst I love,
Guide thou my wand'ring feet;
And when my course on earth is run,
conduct me to thy seat.
